We have a lot going on at Jefferson Preparatory …
Miss Gho and the Music Department have their annual Holiday Concert tonight at 7:00 pm at Shadow Rock Church of Christ, 12861 N 8th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85029. We invite all to support these students who work so diligently to learn the language of music and to master an instrument. I can hear their rehearsals and they are sounding beautiful!
The basketball teams have home games on Friday, December 6th. Our home games are played at Deer Valley Middle School on 27th Ave., and Deer Valley Road. This week, the boys play at 5:00 pm and the girls play at 6:30.
Friday is a pizza Friday. Students who stay on campus for study hall or afternoon clubs may purchase pizza from the JPPO for $2 / slice. Five dollars will get them a couple of slices of pizza and a water.
Earlier today, the link for the monthly staff appreciation luncheon was sent out. December’s luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, December 10th. We certainly appreciate all that you do! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4AA9AF22A7F85-chilly
Currently, student government is sponsoring a “Giving Tree” in an attempt to brighten the holiday of a family that recently arrived from Burma. Talk to your student about taking a tag and providing something for this refugee family. They are a family of four, parents with 2 young boys. All gifts are due December 13th. (see attached flyer)
After this week, we have two weeks left in the semester (winter break begins at noon on Fri., Dec 20th). Encourage your kids to push through, work hard, and finish the semester strong. Encourage them to talk to their teachers when they don’t understand a concept. Check FamilyLink often. Remember that parents and students each have their own login to FamilyLink. If you forget your password, shoot me an email, or a phone call and let me know. It only takes a few seconds to reset your password to Hello123. Finals will be held the last two weeks, and report cards will be sent home on January 6th.
We appreciate our Jefferson Prep families. You are raising GREAT children. It is interesting to listen to the students. They are nice! They treat each other well. They speak of concepts rather than people. They are learning and thriving. Jefferson Preparatory is a great place, and we appreciate you for being a part of it.
